The principles of the NX bore shape, bell and register key design, along with a logical (and unusual) choice of bore size (12.8mm), justify calling these the first truly in tune Eb and D clarinets, significantly addressing the usual problems of the flat altissimo register, sharp high C region and sharp middle low register.

In addition to superior intonation, they have been praised by all who have tried them for their clear, smooth tone and excellent projection.

A conventional Eb clarinet mouthpiece is used.  Keywork is Boehm system with the addition of an automatic register/throat Bb mechanism.

For customers wishing an extra pitch boost for the altissimo E-F region, an automatic tuning key is offered.
